Baseball doesn’t seem that dangerous, all things considered. Sure, you have people flinging 100 mph pitches dizzyingly close to players’ heads, but when the standard is getting punched as hard as possible or getting your body slammed to the ground, baseball looks like a walk in the park by comparison.

That said, there are still some pretty severe injuries that can happen during America’s pastime, especially if you don’t watch your gonads.

Case in point: During Wednesday’s game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Cincinnati Reds, MLB umpire Adam Hamari caught a stray right in the balls.

As noted by Sports Illustrated, Hamari was able to quickly shack off the nut tap and return to his job, only missing a few calls in the process.

All of this, of course, just stresses the importance of keeping your eye on the ball[s]!
