Gypsy Rose Blanchard has had a tumultuous few months since her release from prison late last year. For the uninitiated, Gypsy spent eight years in prison for the murder of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard in June 2015.

Gypsy’s story, including the suffering she endured at the hands of her mother’s factitious disorder (also known as Munchausen by proxy) and her recruitment of Nicholas Godejohn to help with the murder were covered in a high-profile documentary as well as Hulu’s limited series The Act, which drew even more attention to Gypsy’s case. As a result, many people were eagerly awaiting her release from prison last December and her subsequent return to the real world.

Gypsy shocked everyone upon her return to social media by announcing that she had married Ryan Scott Anderson in July 2022, only to turn around and shock them a second time by announcing this past weekend that she and Ryan are separating just three months after her release from prison. In addition, in between those two bombshells she also took the time to brag on social media about how fire her husband’s D was, which is her right as an American, I suppose.

In a post published to her Facebook page, Gypsy wrote, "People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou. I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am.”

Gypsy had previously deleted her public social media accounts last month following a tumultuous return to the outside world — while she had many supporters, the sheer amount of attention she was receiving had to have been weird for someone who had just spent eight years in prison.

As a result, fans are flooding Anderson’s Instagram comments to lament the breakup, or, more accurately, comment variations of “I guess the D wasn’t fire after all” ad infinitum, including on a photo of Anderson’s dog. In front of the puppy, guys, really?
