It’s the day true crime girlies and the gays of Twitter have been waiting for — after eight years behind bars, Gypsy Rose Blanchard has finally been released from prison.
At roughly 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, Gypsy, now 32, was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Chillicothe, MO where she had served the majority of her 10-year sentence for her involvement in the 2015 killing of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.

News of Dee Dee’s quickly rose to notoriety after prosecutors alleged Gypsy’s late mother suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a mental disorder that allegedly prompted her to convince those around her — including her daughter — that Gypsy was sick, forcing her to use a wheelchair and use a feeding tube without any medical necessity.
The subject of several true crime documentaries, namely, HBO’s Mommy Dead and Dearest and the Hulu miniseries The Act, Blanchard’s case has long captivated true crime fans, television fans and the press alike, making her release quite the occasion.

Precluded by fan-made to-do lists of what she should do upon her release — a few notable agenda items have included “be a guest on Hot Ones” and “date Pete Davidson” — and a handful of K-Pop-esque fan cams, Gypsy’s release quickly went viral, with fan pages immediately cropping up tracking her every move.
So what, exactly, has Blanchard done with her newfound freedom? Alongside nabbing tickets to a Kansas City Chiefs game in the hopes of meeting pop icon Taylor Swift — it’s not even The Eras Tour but she better get that goddamn 22 hat — Blanchard did what any of us would do after 8 years in the slammer, getting a goddamn burger.

Though it’s unclear what exactly Gypsy ordered — some speculating she nabbed a Sprite — we can only hope that she got whatever it was her way. She most definitely deserves it.
