For some men, there’s nothing they love more than kicking back and enjoying a full-bodied cigar. While most men participate in this pastime from the comfort of their own homes, other men are out here braving the tempestuous winds of the high seas to enjoy their cigars in even the most extreme circumstances.

In particular, TikToker Andrea Ferreira posted a video of her uncle battling 21 mph winds on the deck of a cruise ship in order to smoke his cigar in peace, and the internet was immediately impressed by his dedication. In the video, her uncle can be seen tightly gripping the handrail with a cigar in his mouth as he strains against the strong winds to get to the perfect smoking spot as Jeff Buckley’s “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over” plays over the top.

Commenters were in awe. One wrote, “One must imagine sisyphus trying to light a cigar in 21 mile winds,” a reference to the “One Must Imagine Sisyphus Happy” meme, itself a reference to Albert Camus’ The Myth of Sisyphus essay. Another commenter kept it short and sweet, simply writing, “This is cinema.”

Others were concerned that he wouldn’t be able to light the cigar in such conditions, particularly if it got soaked during his tumultuous journey across the deck of the ship. As one person put it, “Lighting it was probably a journey all on its own.”

Ferreira’s uncle appears to be enjoying his 15 minutes of fame being known as the internet’s most committed cigar smoker. She posted a follow-up video in response to someone comparing him to Lana del Rey in which her uncle sits, legs crossed over one another, on the edge of the bed, looking mysterious, and, indeed, very Lana del Rey, as the singer’s song “The Other Woman” plays.

May this man enjoy many more smooth cigars in his future.
