Earlier this week, J the Llama went where no llama has before, serving as a groomsman in one couple’s Albion, New York wedding. A surprise for the bride, who aspires to own a llama farm, from her mother, J’s getup, consisting of a tuxedo complete with a corsage, a bow tie and a fake set of arms, was so convincing that even photographer Cathy Craft was caught off guard.

"At first, I thought it was a groomsman dressed as a llama, but when he turned, I saw that it was the other way around,” she told Newsweek, noting that though she’d seen dogs participate in wedding ceremonies, J’s presence was a first.

"The bride was absolutely delighted and the guests thoroughly enjoyed it as they waited for the ceremony to begin,” she recalled. “It put a smile on everyone's face.”

But it wasn’t just Craft who was blown away by J’s dapper looks. Shortly after snaps from the nuptials began circulating online, the llama found himself a new fanbase – the ever-chic influencers of menswear Twitter.

“This is how a suit should fit,” quipped @dieworkwear.

“What a distinguished gentleman. Every one of these pictures is amazing,” wrote @trevkeller.

As @whotfisjovanan so aptly put it, “If the best man at my future wedding isn’t a llama I don’t want it.”
