As our loved ones get up there in age they have particular requests for when they pass. Some want a grand party with lots of color and others want to be cremated and sent back into nature. One grandmother requested to have liquor poured on her open grave by her family.
Her grandson, @thabiggest80 on TikTok, posted a video of the solemn occasion, dumping two bottles of her favorite liquor into her grave. In the video, you overhear other family members commenting that this is what made Grandma happy.
“Don’t drink it all at once!” one family member says at the end of the video.
The video quickly went viral with many asking why they're trying to destroy Granny’s liver, again. “They done gave granny cirrhosis of the liver even in death,” tweeted @rahsh33m.

We've all heard about "pouring one out for the homies" but that’s usually on the already buried grave plot and only a shot’s worth of alcohol. As Twitter goes back and forth on whether drenching granny with booze is respectful or not, the practice of offering liquor to those passed is quite old. Like ancient times old. This sacrifice or libation is to honor your ancestors.
The grandson quickly saw all the discourse going on and commented, “Damn I can’t show my respect to granny.”
Some grannies want to be remembered for baking cookies and knitting sweaters, but this granny clearly wanted to be remembered for her love of a heavy pour. However, she might need to take a sobriety test before she enters the pearly gates. Granny’s sauced to meet the big boss.
