Move over, Rosetta Stone — there’s a new, less malodorous way to connect people of all tongues, creeds, and nationalities: admonishing your girlfriend’s sexy outfits.
Influencer Isabel Sanchez headed to TikTok and Instagram this week to reveal the unconventional way her English-speaking boyfriend, Shane, managed to bond with her Spanish-speaking mother, proceeding to tear her a new one over a slinky, sparkly dress.
“Look at this!” said Sanchez’s mother, holding up the silver number, one made of large sequin paillettes. “Naked”
After clarifying that the dress was not, in fact, that of his (likely) soon-to-be mother-in-law, he piled on, clutching his man pearls at the thought of his S.O. showing some skin.
“It’s not clothes,” he replied in Spanish, a sentiment it appears Sanchez’s mother already attempted to instill in her.
“No clothes! I told her,” she continued, dress still in hand. “She’ll be naked”
Though Shane may have attempted to insist that Sanchez only sport the dress while at home, the unlikely duo’s ability to communicate with one another quickly stole the show from any soon-to-be dress codes.
“All of a sudden he’s bilingual,” wrote one TikTok commenter, while another noted how he “got sassy real quick.”
But regardless of whether or not Sanchez dared to don the dress beyond the confines of her home, one thing is certain — to paraphrase several other TikTok commenters, the language of hot goss is most always universal.
