Florida is currently trying to clamp down on insane drivers. One of the laws that they recently put in place to do so involves stopping “super speeders” — i.e., people who drive 100+ miles per hour or people who drive 50 miles per hour or more over the speed limit.
Now, you might be thinking, “That’s crazy. How common could that actually be?”
Well, it turns out it’s so common that someone was arrested literally minutes after the law went into effect.
In the early morning hours of July 1st, a driver was caught going 104 miles per hour — and was promptly pulled over and arrested. According to the law, he will now be subject to 30 days in jail, a $500 fine or both, provided it was a first time offense.
As the law was only enacted two minutes before his arrest, I’m going to assume it was!
