Though Hurricane Idalia may have failed the Waffle House index, with several South Florida locations of the breakfast chain shuttering their doors as the Category 4 storm made landfall, rain, flooding, and 100 MPH winds weren’t enough to stop yet another Sunshine State staple — Florida Men.

As the storm hit Florida’s Gulf Coast on Wednesday at roughly 8 a.m. local time, several Florida Men — and Florida Women — were out in full force, refusing to let a devastating hurricane hinder their mid-week plans.

Though some took the storm as an opportunity to unwind, bonding with their plants, and in the case of this dude, taking a massive dab while braving harrowing gusts of wind, one Florida Man decided flood water wouldn't get in the way of his morning bike ride.

“Despite officials' warnings, a man tried to ride his bicycle around Tampa Bay this morning after the storm surge over 4ft,” Twitter user @noblemi6 captioned a clip of a man bravely attempting to peddle his bike as floodwaters teetered around his waist.

But not everyone was determined to get a bike ride in, others opting to lean into the stormy weather as they embarked on their daily workouts. While one Florida man reached for his Kayak, treating the hurricane like a day on the mangroves, another opted for a more DIY approach, hitting the flooded streets on a makeshift raft.

“BREAKING: Despite officials' warnings, sheer madness is happening now on Bay Shore Boulevard, Florida,” @insidercnews wrote alongside a clip of a Florida Man attempting to traverse through the high waters.

Florida – the only state in the nation that sees a Cat 4 storm coming their way and thinks, "I'll go for a morning bike through town."
