When it comes to making an escape from a kidnapper, slow, loud and methodical are the keys to success — at least according to one firefighter’s now infamous TikTik clip.

Earlier this month, repost page @chypdeplo headed to TikTok with a re-upload of a firefighter offering instructions on how to escape from handcuffs, a long-drawn-out process involving a whole lot of loud shimmying and a precariously placed necktie.

“If you’re ever stuck in this situation, the fire academy teaches you how to get out,” he began the clip, depicting him shackled to what appears to be a water pipe with a long set of handcuffs.

Though the firefighter may have offered some life-saving tips, showing the elaborate process of snaking a piece of fabric through the cuff and setting your hands free, several viewers had one question — what the actual f—k is taking so long?

“Nope… I’m already on Dateline before the loop situation…,” wrote one TikToker.

“Too late ive already fallen in love with my captor,” joked another commenter while a third insisted that they “would’ve been dead already.”

But regardless of how long this life-saving measure takes, one thing is for sure — to paraphrase another commenter, we are most definitely not leaving home without a necktie.
