Though Final Destination may be one of the scariest franchises of all time, the horror series turned out to be a documentary for a handful of unlucky straphangers in central Mexico, who found themselves nearly decapitated after their double-decker bus lost its roof in a low overpass.
On February 4, a vehicle transporting passengers from the cities of Toluca to Puebla found itself taking a very scary detour, getting lodged underneath a bridge near Mexico City. While 16 people were unlucky enough to have been sitting on the vehicle’s second story, only 12 were injured in the accident, according to local outlet Riviera Maya News.
Final destination moment. A double decker crashed in a tunnel because of insufficient clearance.

None of these injuries were serious, however, the accident clearly left one hell of a mark on the driver’s pride. Moments after the bus came to a screeching — and probably sparking — halt halfway through the overpass, the driver decided to get the hell out of dodge, running away from the accident. As of February 5, he has yet to be found.
So take it from this driver-turned-runner: Clearance heights are most definitely not suggestions … lest you raze the roof of your bus.
