When comedian Matt Rife decided to kick off his Netflix stand-up special with several bad jokes about domestic violence, he didn’t just piss off women, survivors, and anyone with an iota of critical thinking, he also purportedly peeved his plastic surgeon, whose shining work was now inextricably linked to misogynistic BS.

Rife’s embodiment of those “doctors hate him!” ads began on Monday when Dr. Benjamin Caughlin — better known by his TikTok persona “Not your mom’s Plastic Surgeon” — shared a video not-so coyly hinting at a poorly-aging jaw job.

“Me after creating the greatest jawline ever seen just for my patient to get canceled right after,” read the text of his now-viral video, depicting him frustratedly frolicking down the halls of an office to Bridgit Mendler’s “Hurricane.”

Though Dr. Caughlin remained tight-lipped on his client’s identity — “He shall not be named,” he captioned the clip — the mere mention of a jawline alongside the hashtags “standup” and “comedian” led several to believe that Rife was the celebrity in question.

“So we ALL knew it was Matt Rife before coming to the comment section, right?” asked Brandi Bailey.

“Not Matt Rife surgeon spillin’ tea,” commented @Mindy&Co.

“Matt Rife needs to take comedy lessons from this man,” joked @Luvnlite, while @Rachel commended Dr. Caughlin’s strategic use of HIPPA laws.

“This is genius because everyone is going to decide it's Matt Rife even if it isn't and doc legally can't confirm or deny,” they commented.

Rife, however, was far from amused by the video, heading to Dr. Caughlin’s Instagram page to fire back.

“Lying about medical history is illegal, just FYI,” he commented.

But regardless of whether or not the plastic surgeon’s clip went too far, one thing is certain: To paraphrase @petwhisperernyc, “bro gave him the Squidward special.”
