Embarrassed Crypto Kidnappers Return Victim After Only Finding $9 in Digital Wallet
Yet another reason to not “flex” on social media.

A 21-year-old Belgian celebrity barber named Quentin Cepeljac used to post a lot about his crypto holdings. Now, he’s probably going to stop doing that — not only because he was kidnapped over them, but because he actually only had about $9.
According to CryptoCoverage, Cepeljac was lured to London under the guise of a romantic meetup. Instead, he was kidnapped, with three men spending nine hours demanding access to his alleged cryptocurrency fortune.
However, the plot quickly collapsed when the captors discovered his crypto wallet held only £6.71, or around $9. It turns out, Cepeljac made his money through not crypto, but his job — meaning his actual crypto holdings were, at the time, pretty minimal.
Eventually, the group just said “screw it” and stole his *real* money, which amounted to about £2,000, or $2,700 USD. Then, they were promptly caught.
Not worth a kidnapping, if you ask me!
