If you follow electronic music, you’re probably familiar with the name Boiler Room. It’s a series primarily focused on electronic music that has events around the world, showcasing artists from underheard communities while giving larger artists a platform to demonstrate some of their more experimental offerings.


At least, that’s the theory behind it. In recent years, some have accused the brand of slipping, putting on shows that are more catered to driving attention and clicks than delivering anything of musical substance.

Many of these criticisms are unfounded. However, Eartheater’s recent performance at Boiler Room’s Vancouver edition shows that maybe the critics are right about a few things.
