Southern Californians recently found themselves at the crossroads of a tropical storm and earthquake this weekend after a 5.1 magnitude quake hit the region as Hurricane Hilary made landfall.
Though the hurricane weakened to a tropical storm before hitting the usually dry area, the damage was still tangible, resulting in mudslides, rock slides and even prompting Governor Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency, with flash flood warnings still in effect until Monday morning.
