Axelle De Ville, a Mexican drag queen, posted about an accident at one of her recent shows while she was performing a lip sync to Kylie Minogue’s “Supernova” when she reached into her wig to turn on the sparklers.

De Ville’s wig immediately caught fire and she threw it off. She then shares photos of burns on her scalp.

“Hello to my most humble moment of my career,” her caption translated from Spanish reads.

Drag reveals have been getting bigger and bigger over the years, especially on RuPaul’s Drag Race. After Sasha Velour’s wig reveal of flower petals won her season 9, drag queens have set a new bar for extravagant reveals.

This does beg the question, what did she think was going to happen? Pyrotechnics and synthetic wigs do not mix well.

“Whatever happened to the good ol’ point and bark? y’all doing too much for $50,” commented another queen.

In her Instagram story, she states that she is recovering from the burns but is still performing.
