Apparently, the trope about getting laid at funerals is real. Trojan did a study and found that nearly 1 in 8 men aged 35 and under, bring a condom to funerals “just in case.” The study was done using a survey of 2,000 18-35-year-old adults.

Reddit is full of stories from people who went to a funeral and either got laid or tried to. Bumblefuckglobalgave a word of warning about trying to hit on people at funerals by sharing “I went to my grandma's funeral and hit it off with this hot nurse. Things were going great until my brother pulled me aside and said it was my second cousin. Do you know who shows up at funerals for old people? Family members.”

It is unclear if the study is conflating the number of people who just carry a condom wherever they go with people getting horned up before a funeral and intentionally bringing a condom. Sophdog101 explained their take on the study: “ It sounds like they asked a bunch of men and 7/8 were either people who don't carry around condoms everywhere or were like ‘I don't specifically take a condom to a funeral" and then the 1/8 were like "I mean yeah I do because I carry one everywhere.”’

The general consensus seems to be that people do get it on after funerals, as NewGirlHere13  put it, “I think it's pretty common but no one talks about it because they feel guilty.”
