You know what they say: With great power (i.e., being the DJ) comes great responsibility (i.e., the ability to immediately turn everyone in the bar against your ex), as one Boston man discovered after his former flame walked into the bar he was DJing at during his set.
While on the decks, DJ Artie announces, “My ex-girlfriend just walked in here with the guy she cheated on me with. Can you believe that shit? I can’t believe that shit!” He continued, “I’m going to play a song for her though, real quick,” before blasting the introduction to “WAP” by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion (you know, the part where AI “T” McLaran chants, “There’s some wh*res in this house”) as everyone cheers.
According to Artie’s caption, his ex left right away, which is understandable after such a frosty (but deserved) welcome. Commenters were impressed, with one pointing out that the girl in front had his back immediately, booing his ex loudly before immediately getting pumped up to the sounds of “WAP.” A couple of commenters suggested other alternative songs he could have played, including “Ho” by Ludacris or “Loyal” by Chris Brown, while some were just closely analyzing the video to try and find footage of the ex leaving the bar.
They might be looking for a long time because, as one cynical commenter pointed out, this all seems a little too perfect. Nonetheless, it makes for a great intro to the song. Jimbocookin wrote, “pov your ex girlfriend is definitely not in the bar and your (sic) just trying to hype up the crowd to get them interested in the song.” While a few commenters agreed with Jimbo, they argued that “either way, it makes for a good time.”
And who are we to argue with that? Everyone’s a sucker for a good story, and it’s a hell of a juicy way to introduce a Cardi B classic. Everyone wins!
