Companies Are Using A.I. for Graphic Design, Then Hiring Graphic Designers to Make It Look Less Like A.I.
Surely we can just cut out the middleman and hire the people directly, no?

When A.I. image generators were released, it was a beautiful day for lazy people who don’t want to hire a graphic designer. Need a logo for your trucking business? No need to pay your local barista who’s been trying to use his degree for five years — instead, you can just write “generate me a trucking business logo” into ChatGPT, and boom, you have a logo! It may say “TURCKKING” instead of “trucking,” but it’s something!
However, as people are getting more and more sick of that “A.I. look,” companies are feeling the need to make their images, you know, “good.” This isn’t resulting in them stopping their use of A.I., of course — instead, they’re now just prompting the image idea, then paying someone to use that prompt to actually make something good.
As noted by NBC News, sometimes, these A.I.-fixing jobs involve leaving the image intact and correcting things like text and the amount of fingers on someone’s hand. Other times, a company will have used A.I. to come up with an idea, then hired a graphic designer to make something usable.
While the latter isn’t the worst, I promise you, if you’re a company looking for a logo, you’re much better off just hiring someone who can do it right in the first place instead of spending your afternoon writing “generate me a better logo” into Grok.
