Nobody wants an HBO Harry Potter series, I can promise you that. Fantastic Beasts gave us a prequel trilogy and the stage play Cursed Child tells the story of what happens after Hogwarts. I’d say that’s enough Harry Potter. Unless the plan is to bring back every actor from the original movies where they all enroll into some sort of Hogwarts Community College, we don’t care anymore.

But never fear, fantasy lovers. Our grumpy green friend is rumored to be making a comeback, and no, I’m not talking about Oscar the Grouch. It was just announced that after a 13-year hiatus, Shrek 5 is now officially in the works with the original voice cast set to reprise their iconic roles.

According to Variety, “There’s tremendous enthusiasm on behalf of the actors to return.” Obviously, that includes Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and the iconic Eddie Murphy as ‘Donkey.’ Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri also teased a Donkey spin-off film, stating that he thinks Eddie Murphy could hold his own “without question” in a solo movie. Twitter users couldn’t contain their excitement.

After a decade and change, Shrek 5 is really happening. It’s still very much in the developmental stage, and we don’t know much else, including plot or full cast details. But hey, at least we have something to look forward to and besides another reboot of Harry Potter. Cinema is back, baby.
