Some top-tier celebs are getting cold feet regarding Elon Musk's recent acquisition of Twitter. The billionaire owner has made it very clear that 'free speech' is the direction he wants to take the platform. What does that mean exactly? Rumors have obviously been circulating that Donald Trump's account may be reinstated. While other users have used their newfound 'freedom' to Tweet the n-word and spread misinformation.
It's no surprise that some A-listers are now questioning Elon Musk's decisions regarding Twitter.
And maybe you could ask, would you let Hitler on? Or Goebbels? Or Stalin? Or Putin? Or Dr.Verwoerd? Why allow people who deliberately lie, access on the grounds of free speech? https://t.co/wUocH8CqQr

Large exodus happening on this platform. Not sure if I stay or not. Leaning toward staying, but if today is a sign of things to come, not sure what the point is. Freedom of speech is great. Hate speech intended to incite harm, (with no consequences) ain’t what I signed up for.

Author Stephen King then spoke out after Musk suggested charging verified accounts to keep their blue checkmark intact.
$20 a month to keep my blue check? Fuck that, they should pay me. If that gets instituted, I’m gone like Enron.

Musician and broadway star, Sara Bareilles was having none of it.
Welp. It’s been fun Twitter. I’m out. See you on other platforms, peeps. Sorry, this one’s just not for me. ??

One of the bigger issues is people taking advantage of 'free speech.' LeBron had some thoughts on the matter.
I dont know Elon Musk and, tbh, I could care less who owns twitter. But I will say that if this is true, I hope he and his people take this very seriously because this is scary AF. So many damn unfit people saying hate speech is free speech. https://t.co/Sy0jvXIBnC

I'm shocked and appalled at some of the "free speech" I've seen on this platform since its acquisition. Hate speech under the veil of "free speech" is unacceptable; therefore I am choosing to stay off Twitter as it is no longer a safe space for myself, my sons and other POC.

Just hours after taking control of this platform, its owner spread crackpot conspiracy theories about the attempted murder of Speaker Pelosi. Now is not the time to leave. Now is the time to fight for our Democracy. Vote blue. Hold the Congress. Then explore options.

Obviously, nobody is forcing anybody to join Twitter or create an account. But for those who are already tweeting, it's easy to see that not everyone is loving the Elon Musk takeover.
