TikTok influencer Angela Wiley, better known to her 14,500 followers as @honeygxd, recently shared one hell of a review for Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS shapewear brand, revealing the Spanx competitor didn’t just snatch her waist, but also stopped her from bleeding to death last winter.

“Kim Kardashian saved my life,” she explained in her now-viral video. “This New Year’s, I got shot four times. The night that I got shot, under my dress, I was wearing a SKIMS shaping bodysuit.”

Though Wiley suffered a ruptured bladder and a cracked pelvis, as the Kansas City CBS affiliate reported shortly after the shooting, her shapewear seemingly saved her from a much more gruesome fate. “It was so tight on me that it literally kept me from bleeding out,” Wiley continued, vowing to snap up more of Kardashian’s undergarments, or as she called them, “Body armor for women.”

“Call it fate, or Jesus, but Ima call it Kim. Ima call it Kim for sure,” Wiley concluded.

While Kardashian later acknowledged the creator’s tale of woe, reposting the TikTok to her Instagram page with the caption “wowww,” per People, several commenters questioned whether Wiley’s story was real or not.

“How much did Kim pay her?” asked @zarabeaune, one of the many social media users wondering if this story was SKIMS sponcon.

Regardless of whether or not Wiley’s tale of SKIMS salvation was a dystopian work of guerrilla marketing, one question remains: To quote @HashtagDarlene, “Is it healthy to wear a piece of clothing so tight it can act effectively as a tourniquet?”
