Boomers Are Leaving Retirement Communities After Realizing That Living With Boomers Sucks

Most of you are okay. But some of you… Geez.

About a decade ago, there were a bunch of news articles about how Baby Boomers  weren’t moving to the typical “retirement” communities. Instead, they were moving to “55-plus communities,” where they can live out the rest of their lives without hearing the words “Labubu” or “matcha latte” ever again.

Now, however, a lot of them are finding that being surrounded by a bunch of people who look, think and act like you kinda sucks.

Across Reddit and other social media sites, people in these 55-plus communities are complaining about how all the houses look the same, how people spend their free time getting into each other’s business and fighting on Facebook, and how hyper-strict HOAs make it difficult to do just about anything.

Not only that, but many are realizing that the rising ages of these communities — and the Boomer inability to know when to give up — means that all of the activities they now enjoy will disappear as soon as people either age out of them or just kick the bucket.

Consequently, some are discussing selling their property — and others are worrying that prices in these communities are going to drop precipitously as older residents pass and there aren’t enough younger people with the money to buy the house once they do.

Thanks, that means they’ll be responsible for *another* housing market collapse!
