As a Midwesterner, I can admit that large parts of where we come from aren’t exactly the best. The Midwest is a cold, mostly empty space where every spare moment is filled by drinking as much alcohol as humanly possible. At least there’s cheese curds!
Because of this lack of, well, most things, we’re immensely proud of what we’ve got. Culver’s is an institution, and people love Kroger so much that they’re showing off their Kroger cards at sports games.

At a recent game between the Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers, the crowd was asked to show their Kroger cards — and dammit, they did.
According to other people on X/Twitter, this is a pretty common occurrence at Pacers games, and Kroger has such a close partnership with the team that they printed their logo on receipts for a while.
Every single pacers home game they ask for people to stand up and hold their Kroger card. I haven’t lived in a city with a Kroger in 8 years but keep my card on me incase I go to a pacer game

But as many respondents noted, there are definitely ways we could make this more Midwestern. Have him holding a plate of ham roll-ups while playing cornhole and suffering from ungodly amounts of seasonal depression, *then* he will be a true representative of our kind.
