Barefoot may be legal, but it’s deeply weird.
In short, the world isn’t designed for the barefoot. Our streets are covered in broken glass, our sidewalks rocky cement. Even if you’re at a park with lush greenery, you’ll probably need to drop a deuce at some point — and that means venturing into a public bathroom with your toes exposed. Not great!
Despite these problems, some insist on being barefoot all of the time. However, stores don’t like this, and so, those who are barefooters must find ways to either circumvent the rules or, in the case of this TikToker, hide their barefootedness.
How do they do so? By cutting off the bottoms of their really expensive shoes, of course!
In this video posted to TikTok, a couple uses a dremel to remove the bottoms of all of their shoes, a collection they value at over $20,000. As the video progresses, they show themselves going to Sephora with their makeshift barefoot shoes, subtly revealing their bare toes on multiple occasions.

The best/worst part, depending on how you want to look at it, is that their strategy barely works. On multiple occasions, you can see a foot expose itself from underneath the shoe — it’s almost like that’s not how shoes are supposed to work!

In case you’re wondering, the TikToker has done this shit before, so unless she steps on a tetanus nail, it’s unlikely she’s going to be stopping anytime soon. God bless America!
