While baby names like “Taylee,” “McKarty” and “Nayvie” may have reached meme status roughly 10 years ago, white women have continued their innovations in giving their kids deranged names — just ask anyone who has recently stumbled across parenting groups on social media.

@heyyitsdidi headed to Twitter on Wednesday to share an unexpected upside of joining Facebook groups for expecting parents: Seeing all of the insane names parents-to-be are planning on naming their children.

“The best part about being in a ton of 2023 pregnancy/baby groups is getting to see all the absolutely wretched names parents are coming up with these days,” she wrote alongside a list of highlights.

Gone are the days of Barleigh, Kenzeigh, Greyleigh, and every other name with the suffix—leigh. In their place, a new, even more unhinged crop of monikers have entered the hallowed halls of parenting derangement.

“Leviathan,” “Raddix Zephyr,” “Mötley,” “Coyote Bao” and the Dune-themed “Sigurd Felix Wolfgang Atriedes” topped the list for boys as more Grimes-ain options like “Genyzis”, “Randilyn Rosalee,”  “Merricka,” “Leazel” and “Rocklyn” were in the running for girls.

Like most people would do upon discovering people are naming their children like they’re Elon Musk, an obscure character from Lord of the Rings or both, several Twitter users had questions, namely, what the f—k.

“White people in America should not be allowed to create new names,” wrote @dklmarxist “Look to Europe and choose from the word bank.”

“Leazel???? From hit 2023 video game Baldurs Gate 3???” asked @hnana349 while  @LivMaddix offered a counterargument for the moniker of “Merrika.” “Merricka F—K YEAH” they wrote.

But regardless of whether you love or hate these names, we’ll have to waeight and seigh whether these names with ständ the test of timeigh.
