A Wild Bear Broke Into a Zoo to Visit the Other Bears

And presumably tell them about life on the outside.

A California zoo got a surprise visitor to its bear enclosure: another bear.

According to the LA Times, staff at the Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka, California were doing their morning rounds when they spotted an American black bear staring at the zoo’s black bear enclosure.

This wasn’t a breakout mission — it seems like the bear just wanted to see how his enclosed brethren were doing.

The funniest part? No one knows how the bear got in. The perimeter around the zoo was secure, meaning it’s more than likely the bear climbed a tree to gain entry. Once inside, he didn’t bother anyone or any other animal; he just went to the black bears, hung out, then was removed by zookeepers and animal control.

“Overall, he was a very polite visitor,” the zoo wrote in a Facebook post. “He stayed on the boardwalk path, kept two feet on the ground and didn’t try to climb over the railings.”

Hey, he’s welcome at our place anytime!
