A Small Town Worked Together to Win the Lottery, Making Everyone a Multimillionaire
That’s called community organizing!

After two people claimed the $1.79 billion Powerball jackpot, many are looking for ways that they, too, can become overnight millionaires or billionaires.
Unfortunately, the (legal) methods for doing this are pretty minimal. However, there *are* ways that one can game the lottery, as this small town in Canada discovered.
Basically, a small group in the 150-person town of Saint-Paul’s River, Quebec realized that, if they just kept buying tickets collectively, they’d increase their chances (slightly) of a major payday for all involved.
The bad news? It took two decades. The good news? It actually worked — resulting in 14 winners who are now multimillionaires. For those doing the math, that means that about 1 in 10 people in the small town are now multimillionaires.
The jackpot was $50 million CAD, or around $36 million USD. Divide that by 14, and each winner has about $2.6 million USD before taxes.
It may not carry the same weight as it did when they started 20 years ago, but I don’t think any of them are crying about being $2.6 million richer!
